Local Roaming Number
Code Jawa Local Roaming Number (CJLRN) solution provides inbound roamers with local numbers to create a "local presence" and receive lower charges for outbound and inbound calls and SMS.
When an in-roamer registers with the local network, CJLRN will send a Welcome SMS containing an instruction on how to activate the local roaming number. If CJLRN still contains the last local roaming number assigned to the in-roamer, it will give the same local number. Otherwise, a random number will be chosen from its local roaming number pool.
Upon the in-roamer's request for activation (via SMS or USSD), CJLRN will activate the local number to the roamer. All calls placed by the in-roamer will bear the local number is its caller ID. Alternatively the system can require the in-roamer to dial a prefix for using the local number caller ID. Both the in-roamer's home MSISDN and the local MSISDN can receive calls.
How do operators benefit from providing a local number to an in-roamer? First of all, by having a local presence, the in-roamer is charged at a local rate for making local calls using his home phone. This will increase traffic for the local visited operators. Assigning a sticky local number to a frequent in-roamer also increases loyalty so that the every time he revisits the country, he will choose the same local operator to get the same local number.
